Ch55

An accurate description of a whale is difficult to come by, especially since many have different shapes and skeletons.

Pictures of whales are everywhere!

Ch61

Ishmael spot a whale and alerts the crew who pursue, ending with Stubb killing it with the help of Tashtego.

Stubb kills a whale.

Ch64

Stubb forces the cook to preach to teh sharks and complains about his whale steak.

Stubb is a dick to the old cook. Poor guy.

Ch66

Queequeg and Stubb fend off the sharks during the night so that they don’t eat the whale.

Queequeg thinks that the god who made sharks is an Ingin.

Ch69

Once all has been cut from the whale it is left to float through the sea as vultures pick at it.

There is nothing more depressing than a dead whale adrift.

Ch70

Severing a whale’s head from it body is a difficult task that Stubb excels at.

Ahab speaks to dead whale heads. What’s with that?

Ch71

The Pequod encounters another ship, which has been hit by a plague and they now believe that one member of their crew is an angel.

The Pequod meets another crazy prophet. This time a man believes he is Gabriel the archangel.

Ch72

Queequeg falls in the water and must might off several sharks to climb back on board. Ishmael is strangely calm about it.

Queequeg renews his wedding vows with Ishmael and then fights sharks.

Ch73

Flask and Stubb talk about there distrust in Fedallah.

Stubb and Flask kill a Right Whale and then talk after.

Ch75

Even in death a sperm whale appears determined and fierce.

Sperm whales are more impressive than right whales.

Ch78

Tashtego fell into the whale head and then into the sea. Queequeg had to jump in and save him.

Thank goodness my Queequeg saved Tashtego, but he would have had the best coffin ever in that whale’s head.

Ch79

The sperm whale is a truely magnificent creature.

Noses are goofy, but sperm whales don’t have them. Thats why they have nice faces.

Ch81

A German ship begs for oil, but then tries to capture a whale before them. However, the Pequod still manages to get it.

The Pequod rules the whaling word.

Ch82

Whalers have been around more a long, long time in mythology and even the bible. They can be considered heroes.

I think I’ll ramble about how whalers are for another few pages. Yay!

Ch83

Ishmael discussed the biblical story of Jonah and the whale and points are some scientific discrepancies.

Bible needs to do a bit more whale research.

Ch85

Ishmael speaks to the mechanics behind a whale’s spout, and the lack of smell and voice . He also mentions a deep respect for them.

I’m so cool. I know so much about whales.

Ch86

The tail of a whale is potentially the most useful part of its body, and serves multiple roles.

I wish I had a whale’s tail!!!!

Ch87

Captain Ahab carries many provision so as not to stop and the ship encounters yet another whale in the quest for Moby Dick.

Spear them all! Sweet we got another one.

Ch88

Whales travel in schools. Often males travel in larger one and tend to be more aggressive than female schools.

Male whales are mean.

Ch89

First Ishmael talks about the immorality in stealing another boats wounded whale, then he moves on to commenting about the world as a loose-fish.

Everything is either a loose-fish or a fast-fish the reader included.
