The ship set sail with Ahab unseen and in his cabin while Peleg and Bildad gave orders before departing on a small row boat.
Peleg had to practically pull old Bildad off the ship to stop him from carrying on with how to save our rations and whatnot.

I saw Bulkington, the man from New Bedford on the ship.
Bulkington must be crazy for going right back to sea after a four year voyage.
Ch24
Whaling is a respectable career.

Plus we give oil to Britain.
The queen digs whale oil.

The chief mate was Starbuck, a careful man.
Starbuck lost friends and family thanks to the tail of a whale.

Stub was second mate, Flask third. Queequeg first Harpooner, Tashtego second, and Daggoo third.
Stubb was a smoker, Flask a small man, Tashtego, and Indian, and Daggoo was from Africa.

Ahab finally appeared on deck and I discovered that he had one leg of flesh and another of whale bone.
Captain’s only got one leg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahab misunderstood a suggestion from Stubb as an insult and frightened him.
Don’t mess with Ahab.

Ahab vowed to smoke no more.
Man what a waste of a pipe.

Stubb dreamed that Ahab kicked him with his fake leg.
Stubb kicked his leg off in a dream? Say what?

The captain and harpooner used to share the power, but now the captain has it all.

The Captain the mates ate together and then the harpooners ate together.

Ahab roused the crew and promised gold to whoever brought in the white whale, Moby Dick.
Moby Dick has a strange spout that is bushier than average?

Ahab reflects on Starbuck’s opinion of him and vows to face whatever comes his way.
Then Ahab was like, “I’m not mad, I’m a demon. Bring it on!!!!!!!!!!!!”

Starbucks thinks he is a hopeless situation.
Starbucks was all like “Ahab’s so mean and I don’t fit in here.”

Stubb talks about how both he and Starbuck have been put down by the captain.
Stubb likes to address himself in the third person.
Ch40
The sailors dance as a storm draws closer.
A ship is a crazy place with singing and dancing, and fights. What fun!
